Get ready to stuff your Easter baskets with this 'eggcellent' giveaway from three (3) mom invented companies!

Enter for a chance to win below: 1) Pair of Freshly Picked Moccs - $60 2) An 'Easter Assortment' from Poppy Drops - $30 3) A set of 3 reusable snack bags from spbang - $30

1) Freshly Picked - Susan Petersen started making baby moccasins in 2009 after becoming frustrated by the lack of well-designed baby shoes. Using her second child, Gus, as a mocc-tester, and a bag of scrap leather she picked up at a yard sale, she began experimenting with designs. Working at her kitchen table, on a shoestring budget, Susan persisted through some disastrous attempts until she had created a pair of moccasins that not only looked adorable on Gus’ chubby little feet, but stayed on his feet as well.  Recently featured on Shark Tank!

2) Poppy Drops - Shelly Coffman, mama of three, founded Poppy Drops when her young daughter wanted pierced ears.  Not ready for permanent piercing, she sought out alternatives but had trouble finding a safe and practical solutions.  Poppy Drops veggie-based temporary tattoo earrings were their first 'kid-focused' product.  Since then they have introduced other great products, like Tattoo Nail Art & Perfume Sticks, designed to let kids have fun without the hassles of "grown-up" things.  All Poppy Drops are made with all-natural ingredients and are super easy for kids to use!

3) spbang - spbang reusable snack bags are created by a mom inventor who has a job in the automotive industry.  She was tired of throwing out plastic bags and could never get the reusable fabric snack bags clean.  spbang's unique and environmentally friendly snack bags are crafted with food safe material that contains no lead, no BPA and no phthalates.  Made in the USA, the cool pattern and name plate on the back make kids the envy of their friends and classmates!! The best part is you can toss them in the dishwasher and they actually come clean.  No after smell from yesterday's lunch or washing in the laundry!

ABC Kids Expo - Phew October 27 2013, 0 Comments

It's been a week now since I've been home.  Went to my first ABC Kids Expo and had zero idea on what to expect.  Was lucky to have some help and guidance from the LuruHome ( ladies as well as an amazing previous boutique owner in Ottawa prior to the show. (you know who you are :))

It was four (4) days of craziness!  'Good' crazy as we say in China. My mom and I walked in on the Saturday prior to the show and freaked out when we saw all of the amazing booth setups.  Worried that our painted picnic table and fake grass was lame! We were able to quickly set up our booth and were surprised at how fantastic it really looked!

Day 1 came and went in a flash.  Honestly I had no idea what I was doing.  The best advice I had received prior to the show was 'be yourself and there is no need to make anything up'.  Honest I was. 1) I had a real job in the automotive industry 2) It's not silicone 3) I was the ziploc queen 4) i was the fabric bag queen until I realized I couldn't clean them and they were smelly and 5) You can actually put these in the dishwasher.  I was slow at first but very quickly realized what I had to tell everyone about the bags.  So many people came to our booth the first day I didn't know what to do.  Everyone loved to touch and feel the bags!

The rest of the week continued to be incredible.  More people. More orders. More contacts.  For not knowing what to expect the entire show exceeded my expectations X 1,000,000.  I learned so much in such a short time.  It will truly be a week to forever remember.  And oh legs and back.  No one gave me warning of how much my body would hurt after 4 days of standing and being 'on'. :)

Thank you to all of the buyers, media, distributors, reps etc that visited my booth last week!!  I'm thrilled to be shipping our products in December to boutiques and stores in the USA, Canada and Australia!  I can't wait for the snack bags to be in your stores!

Thank you also to all of the other exhibitors that were there to help with advice and laughter during the week! You can find more info about the amazing vendors with equally as incredible products that were my neighbors at the show! my neighbor in MI :)

This week has given me a chance to step away and figure out what I need to do next...lots of things! Between orders, production, artwork, website and other events, there are never enough hours in the day!  Each day...the learning continues.
